Fashion Exchange was honoured to be invited to the Toronto PCG x Hibla PH: Weaving Stories, Communities and Economies workshop and panel, held at the Philippine Consulate in Toronto in celebration of Indigenous Peoples Month in the Philippines.

The event brought together designers, artisans, cultural advocates, and industry professionals, students and post-secondary institutions to explore the intersections of traditional weaving, innovation, sustainability, and community impact.

Through Hibla Philippines and Hibla Canada, Fashion Exchange gained valuable insight into the artistry and cultural significance of traditional Indigenous Filipino weaves—each thread a reflection of heritage, craftsmanship, and community identity.

Following the event, the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto visited the Fashion Exchange facility, where the team shared its work in local manufacturing, sustainable production practices, and fashion education. The visit created space for further dialogue on how communities can connect through craft, culture, and innovation—values that lie at the heart of both organizations.

This meaningful exchange reinforces Fashion Exchange’s ongoing commitment to ethical manufacturingcultural collaboration, and sustainability in fashion.
