“Start Your Fashion Business” workshop by Susan Langdon C.M.

Fashion Exchange had the privilege of hosting a dynamic 2-day workshop led by fashion industry expert and Executive Director of Toronto Fashion Incubator, Susan Keiko Langdon. With decades of experience and a passion for mentoring emerging talent, Susan shared invaluable insights—from business basics to pricing strategies that work.

Participants explored key topics including how to register a fashion business, fund their vision without compromise, and identify industry statistics that truly matter. The workshop also covered how to carve out a niche, assess competition, and navigate the realities of sampling and production.

Susan provided guidance on designing and pricing collections for profitability, developing impactful marketing strategies, and protecting a brand’s intellectual property and creative assets.

We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part and contributed to the success of this event.

On Day 2, we were also pleased to welcome Monika Branch from our valued textile wholesaler partner, JP Doumak Textile. Her insights and support added another layer of value to the participants’ experience.
