Industry Ready Training

FX Fast-Track programs offer innovative, short module courses that provide new industry students with the opportunity to quickly learn hands-on, in demand skills, allowing them to move rapidly into the local workplace.

Women in Fashion Tech

Women in Fashion Tech provides women the digital and hands on training to secure highly skilled employment in the fashion industry. Specializations include knitting, laser cutting, dye sublimation printing and embroidery in this NEW Fashion Exchange program. In class training at George Brown Fashion Exchange and industry based work placement are included in this one year program.

Duration of the Program

The Women in Fashion Tech module is a 2 semester Certificate program with a 280 hour work placement.

Career Opportunities

Successful graduates of the program will be prepared to take on highly skilled technician roles within the fashion industry, working with computer-aided knitting, laser cutting, dye sublimation printing and industrial embroidery.

Apparel Fit Technician

FX students will learn to recognize good apparel fit, identify fit problems and how to correct them while learning the different body types and ideal fit standards. Correct pinning and marking techniques, textile handling and customer service complete the course focus.

Duration of the Program

The Industrial Power Sewing Fast Track module is a 12 week Certificate program with a 100 hour work placement.

Career Opportunities

Successful graduates of the program will be prepared to take on product development, manufacturing and retail roles such as; Fitting technician, Product Development Assistant, styling, retail alterations.

Industrial Power Sewing

FX students learn to operate industrial sewing equipment and to assemble garments for production. You will also learn to operate single needle, serger and other specialty machines used in garment manufacturing. In-depth training with different seams, fabrics, and common construction processes are combined with in-class sewing practice and a 100 hour work placement module.

The Industrial Power Sewing Fast Track module is a 12 week Certificate program with a 100 hour work placement.

Career Opportunities

Successful graduates of the program will be prepared to take on production roles such as; Sewing machine operator, Line operator, Fusing machine operator, Cutting helper, Bundling helper, Line supervisor, Sample maker.
